Olavo Alberto Deniasse (Chekwa) was born on May 5, 1967, in Choa, Barue district, Manica province, married and father of 4 children. He has a degree and a masters in Chemistry teaching from the Pedagogical University. He has a medium degree in Geology from the Middle Institute of Geology and Mines of Moatize in Tete. He was head of the Department of Mineral Resources in the Provincial Direction of Mineral Resources in Manica, was coordinator of Research, extencao of Marine Biology of Inhaca-UEM, did ten years as Provincial Director of Mineral Resources and Energy of Manica and Nampula. He was a member of the University Councils in the Faculty of Sciences of UEM and UniZambeze, representing the government of Manica Province. He has published solo and co-authored several scientific articles on artisanal mining and conflict management. PhD in educational innovation by the Catholic University with the theme for the thesis the contribution of the education sector to solve the problems of artisanal mining in the country.
